Time for change?

One of the most coveted roles in British film has been tipped to go to producer/director and actor Idris Elba OBE, following reports from inside the bond camp. There’s been talk of an array of actors who could replace Daniel Craig, who has done reasonably well in the role, and Idris’ name has come up a number of times. An extract from the independent reports:

“Director Antoine Fuqua revealed the details of a conversation with Bond producer Barbara Broccoli, in which she said “it is time” for a non-white actor to take on the iconic role. Fuqua discussed who might be next in the running with Broccoli, who’s certain the progressive move “will happen eventually”."

Even though it’s not a solid confirmation, most bookies are putting Idris as the front runner. The actor is currently working on Netflix show Turn Up Charlie whilst anticipating the summer release of his new film; Yardie.
